Memory foam beds come in a vast variety of shapes and sizes. The early beds were little more than piles of straw or other organic materials. A vital change was lifting them off the ground, to avoid dirt, pests and drafts. To make memory foam beds much more comfortable, the top layer is usually a mattress. The bed frame is the third layer, as it lifts the mattress/ mattress-box spring right off the ground.
Those experiencing bone creak and trouble getting up off the ground, a raised air bed or a double air mattress are a wonderful choice as getting in and out of one of these is much more like getting in and out of your standard bed. They should be advised to get an adjustable air mattresses or inflatable air mattress with adjustable back rest.
Memory foam mattresses can provide proper support in proportion to the different parts of your body and their differing weights. This means just the right amount of support for your head and neck and just the right amount of firm support needed for your back and hips. If you tend to sleep on your stomach, a memory foam mattress can help keep excess pressure off your ribs and chest. In the simplest terms, this means that you are less likely to suffer back and neck sprains, stiffened joints, and other affects that sleeping on coil mattresses are notorious for causing.
Queen size mattresses, celebrating their 50th year since they were introduced by the Simmons Company in 1958, measure 60" x 80." Being both wider and longer than a double bed, queen mattresses are more accommodating to the common marital couple. If your sleeping partner likes to roll outside his/her 30" of respected space, then you may, perhaps, want to upgrade to the king. A lesser-known variety of queen is the California queen, being primarily used for wood framed beds that were formerly used for waterbeds (remember those?). Since waterbeds are gracefully fading into mattress history, so is the necessity for the California queen.
